CHRISTMAS AT THE BOWL 2011 GUARANTEED TO BE FULL OF GREAT ENTERTAINMENT

Emcees for the evening are two young and fresh faces. Jordan McFadyen and Hokipera Ruakere will tie the evening together with their zest for life and engagement with the audience.

New Plymouth Brass will again be a key part of Christmas at the Bowl. The band will provide music accompaniment for the carol singing, plus performing a unique marching display.

Taranaki Children's Choir is a 15 strong group of children from around the provence aged between 6 and 12 years old. They will offer a more traditional choir performance with beautiful music and a delightful youthful energy.

City of New Plymouth Caledonia Pipe Band will provide a traditional Scottish flavour to the evening. Christmas at the Bowl will begin with the Pipe Band leading a procession of performers to the Bowl stage.

Viva Girls are an energetic dance group aged between 14 to 18 years old. They part of the New Plymouth Indian Community and will present a vibrant Bollywood performance at Christmas at the Bowl.

Manukorihi Intermediate Kapa Haka represented Taranaki this month at the Kapa Haka championships in Whangarei. A large group of students from Waitara's Intermediate will draw the crowds in as they welcome the audience and performers to Christmas at the Bowl. Their waita and haka are truly spine tingling.

Citywest Band is our rock band in residence this year. This youthful group from Citywest Church will be providing backing music for several items as well as helping with the carol singing. Citywest Band will also present their own energetic performance, combining driving music and dance.

Michelle Glover Dancers are from Hawera and have created a performance just for Christmas at the Bowl. Using several of their teenage dancers they will perform a routine that will capture the audiences attention and imagination.

Welsh Children's Group were formed to perform at the Taranaki International Village as part of the Rugby World Cup. They will give a real Welsh flavour to Christmas at the Bowl and will win the crowd over with their truly cultural expression.

James Tautuku is from Hawera and will be performing his own style of street hip hop, pleasing the teenage audience at Christmas at the Bowl. James is passionate about dance and toured New Zealand in 2010 with Excel School of Performing Arts. James is looking at basing himself in Auckland next year so he can further his dance career.

Stephanie Piquette will bring a soulful sound to Christmas at the Bowl. As well as offering her own unique vocal sound, Stephanie will showcase some of her vocal students as part of her performance.

A Big Screen will be used for the first time this year at Christmas at the Bowl. This will be used to give the audience a better view of what's happening on the stage, plus will screen the following:
            The Innkeeper is a short animated video by South Taranaki director Jason Bloor. The        animation portrays the Innkeepers experience of the first Christmas with a truly Taranaki          feel.
            Christmas Messages from around Taranaki and the world will be beamed for all to see at Christmas at the Bowl. People have the chance to get their Christmas message on the big     screen by posting their video on the Christmas at the Bowl Facebook page. Montages of             many of these messages will be shown throughout the show.

Santa's arrival will be a truly magical experience. The rest of the performers and audience will have walked, driven, flown, cycled and sailed to Christmas at the Bowl. Not Santa! He's magical and his arrival on the night will be a truly magical entry!

Marigold and her Magical Faerie Friends will be flitting amongst the audience at Christmas at the Bowl. They'll be spreading the magic of Christmas as well as gathering letter from the Children that they'll present to Santa during the show.

Fireworks will again light the night sky as an explosive closing to another Christmas at the Bowl extravaganza.
